Rousseau is a 2006 mare out of Whimsical (by Wolkenstein II) and by Nico (a Friesian/Dutch WB stallion). She is currently almost 15.3 hands, and we expect her to mature to about 16 hands. Roo is very people oriented - she really bonds with her person and has an incredibly cute, puppy dog personality. She has movement suited for dressage (or other sport disciplines) with powerful hind end and a free shoulder with good reach. She is naturally balanced when she moves, and is naturally forward and sensitive, yet sensible, and is very flexible and elastic. She ties, leads, clips, loads, bathes, and stands for the farrier. She is good with shots, worming, etc. Roo has excellent potential for dressage, or even a flashy driving horse, or a nice breeding prospect for a colored sporthorse program.
She just started her riding career in August 2009. We generally start our three year olds with two to three days/week of light riding for a few months, then turn them back out until they are four. Roo enjoys the work so much, we continue to ride her once or twice weekly - this mare wants a job! Roo is green, but willing, very balanced, sensitive, and forward. She will make a wonderful riding horse for someone who really wants a partner and friend as their competition horse! She also has easy flying changes at liberty. We have several videos on Youtube, including a recent "under saddle" video here. She is registered with the Friesian Sport Horse Registry and the American Warmblood Society. She is eligible for other registries as well.
