| Uthyr, Our Purebred Friesian Stallion |
Uthyr is a 2006 purebred Friesian stallion registered with Friesian Horse Society, Friesian Heritage Horse, FSHR, and AWS. He is by Donius W, a successful FPZV Approved Friesian sire, and out of the Ster mare, Rosalien TJ. Uthyr was bred by Dawn Boyer of Whispering Hills Friesians, and we were very excited to buy this colt in 2007! Uthyr already has half siblings showing at the FEI levels, and many others showing successfully at the mid-levels of dressage. These bloodlines are exactly what we want to see in Friesian crosses bred for sport disciplines!
He is a stunning horse with big movement and a gentle mind. At 5 years, he stands about 16.1 hands. He has long legs, great feet, strong bone, and is big bodied with good heartgirth and a powerful hind end with a good croup and strong loin connection. He is very light and soft to ride, with lofty movement, and three excellent, scopey gaits. He is already showing successfully at First Level dressage, and is schooling 3rd level movements.
Because we can't really properly promote and campaign two stallions, Uthyr is also offered for sale, although we will continue to stand him and breed to him until we find the right show home for this talented young horse. His sales prices is $30,000.

Uthyr started under saddle in Fall 2009 and has proved to be a willing, light, forward, fun riding partner. He did not stand at stud in 2010, as he started his show career. Uthyr hit the show ring with a bang, scoring 70% at his first schooling show, then 67% and 66% at his first two rated shows, with 1st and 2nd places at Training Level. A year later, he is showing First Level, and a recent video can be seen at this link. Judges comments have been very positive. Several judges commented on his high quality canter. Michele also rode Uthyr with Debbie McDonald in May 2010, and received great feedback.
In December, Michele took Uthyr to an "in-hand" clinic, and Alfredo Hernandez really liked him! Uthyr has a natural ability to "sit" and use his hind end, which should help him in the collected work later on. For a video from that clinic, click here.
February, 2011, Uthyr showed at Golden State Dressage Premier show at First Level, taking a first and second place in very competitive classes. The judges' commented "Impressive", and "Big, attractive horse - very fancy!" In October, 2011, Uthyr showed at USDF Regionals (First Level Open), and placed 6th in a big class of very high quality Warmbloods. The 4th, 5th, and 6th place horses all scored 68%.
