| Mystic Oak Ranch is a small horse breeding facility in Plymouth, about 35 miles south-east of Sacramento, California. We breed quality Friesian Sport Horses for the dressage, eventing, and pleasure rider. Because of our horses' excellent minds, quality gaits, and sound conformation, they are suited for many disciplines and are ideal equine companions for all riders.
What is a Friesian Sport Horse? Simply the best of both worlds - a Friesian cross that combines the best from a quality mare and stallion. The Friesian stamps a quiet and gentle personality along with improved bone and foot and flashy movement. They exhibit a graceful neck and powerful hindquarter along with elegant movement. The result is a lovely Baroque style horse that adores people, is eager to please, and is fun to ride and train. At the same time, the Friesian Sport Horse is usually lighter in build than a pure Friesian, more forward with better stamina, and does come in colors other than black. We specialize in Friesian/Warmblood crosses, adding the athleticism and elastic gaits of the Warmblood, resulting in the ultimate sport horse.
Because we receive so many inquiries on smaller dressage and pleasure horses, we are also breeding Friesian/Morgan crosses, carefully selecting Morgans with good sport horse lines and movement appropriate for dressage. This cross works so well because the two breeds are so similar in type, but the Morgan provides the athleticism and stamina that the purebred Friesian sometimes lacks.
Our horses are registered with American Warmblood Society and the Friesian Sport Horse Registry.
Why a Friesian Sport Horse? If you are looking for the movement of a warmblood, but with a bit more charisma, and a highly trainable horse that loves people, this is the horse you have been looking for. Browse our website and see why this is your ultimate sport horse... |
