Cormac was born on May 2 - he is our first colt out of the Hanoverian mare, Pinot Noir R (Prinz Gaylord/Kalypso), and by our own FEI stallion, LSH Cadence In Color. Cormac (Mac) is going to be quite tall - he was well over my hips when born, and has incredible, long legs! His dam is 17.1 and Cadence is 16 hands. Cormac already shows his sire's strong hindquarters and ability to sit and collect - he should be a very fancy dressage prospect. At 3 days old, he is balanced and brave, and very uphill. Watch for updates on this colt - he's going to be special!
In spite of not trotting for more then a few steps, he earned a Blue Preferred at the AWS inspection. The inspector gave him a 9 for his wonderful walk - commenting that she never does this for babies, but his walk was so outstanding, very good overstep and use of head and neck and topline. She would like to see him again once he trots more consistently - right now, he shows us his excellent walk and canter (and tempi changes).
